The Future at
The Bridgewater Iron Works Park at Stanley
Where history and nature meet.

Read about the plan here.

ack in 1996, The Bridgewater Board of Selectmen, as authorized by a vote of Town Meeting, accepted a gift of the Bridgewater Foundry property from the Bruso and Ladner families. The primary focus of the acceptance was to provide a site for a new municipal works yard. For many years, it had also been the goal of the Bridgewater Historical Commission and the Bridgewater Conservation Commission to see a portion of this site set aside for a riverfront park. Today, this piece of raw land is being developed into these two uses. The park will be a joint effort of the Bridgewater Conservation, Historical, and Recreation Commissions, directing donations of time and funds from various state and local agencies to create one of the most beautiful town parks in southeastern Massachusetts.

The location is ideal—just down river from West Bridgewater Town Park; within walking distance from Bridgewater Center, Bridgewater State College, and the MBTA commuter rail station; and just up river from Camp Titicut—making it accessible not only by car, but by train and water travel also!

Take time to visit and participate in the development of this historically rich project. More information may be obtained by contacting any of the town boards through the Selectmen's Office at (508) 697-0919, Monday through Thursday 8 AM-4 PM, Friday 8 AM-1 PM.The Natural Resources Trust of Bridgewater web site also has detailed information on the Bridgewater Parks system and gives information on how to become involved.
